About Ombar Chocolate:

First established in 2007, when our founder Richard started experimenting with raw cacao in his kitchen at home, and now stocked in major retailers and sold in 14 countries, at Ombar we’re on a mission to change the way we all see chocolate.

We’re introducing people to the incredible superfood powers of cacao, through delicious-tasting chocolate that’s better for our bodies and for the planet.

So, at Ombar, there’s no roasting for us, we craft at low temperatures to protect the heat sensitive cacao polyphenols (healthy plant compounds). Super good. 

We buy cacao directly from farmer’s co-ops in Ecuador, paying more than the fair trade recommended price. Super ethical.

We add carefully considered, organic ingredients to make rich, indulgent chocolate. Super tasty.

After all, if you’re going to make something, you might as well make it super, right?

Role Summary: 

We’re looking for a highly creative Visual Content Creator, with a real passion for food and well-being, to join our friendly and growing team. Through your aptitude for building a powerful visual narrative, you’ll be supporting our mission and helping us to tell our brand story in a compelling and meaningful way. You’ll have proven experience shooting and editing photos and film and using Adobe programmes. Key responsibilities will include; creating digital content for our website and social media channels, designing our printed marketing materials, social media community management and planning social media content.

Reporting to The Brand Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Telling our brand story through our visual content.
  • Supporting the Brand Manager in establishing and owning a brand style across all visual content.
  • Creating visual content for digital platforms; our website, blog and social media channels for the UK and international markets, content will include photos, videos and animations.
  • Optimising visual content for each social media channel.
  • Community management of UK social media; reactive – responding to messages and comments, re-sharing tagged content, proactive – actively engaging with other accounts.
  • Collaboratively working with the marketing team and wider team to plan social media content.
  • Creating and photographing recipes.
  • Designing email newsletters.
  • Designing marketing materials for print within the brand style, including ads, leaflets, posters, POS etc for the UK and international markets.
  • Designing materials to support the sales team such as presentations and business cards for the UK and international markets.
  • Updating and maintaining assets including pack shots and stationery/templates.
  • Minor updates to packaging artwork.
  • Copywriting for social media, our website, email newsletters and blogs.
  • Where relevant selecting the best stock imagery or user generated content to share on our online channels or use in presentations, that fit the brand style.
  • Assisting with general marketing duties and marketing admin.

Key Competencies & Skills:

Experience:

  • Degree or higher education in related fields such as; Graphic Design, Photography, Marketing, Journalism, English.
  • Proven experience creating visual content for digital platforms and designing printed materials, including;
    • Photography and editing.
    • Videography and editing.
    • Creating animations and gifs.
    • Designing templates for email marketing.
    • Designing marketing materials such as leaflets, posters and POS.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Prior management of paid social, email, PPC and SEO campaigns would also be an advantage.

 

Online Shop Exec

Ombar chocolate is an exciting and ambitious brand on a mission to change the way we think about chocolate. Starting from the founder’s kitchen 14 years ago, Ombar is now listed in Waitrose, Ocado and throughout the health food channel in the UK and 15 more countries.

We see tremendous growth potential for Ombar online and, although this is something we have already started, we want to step up activities to proactively grow our online presence and sales.

This is a permanent role, requiring at least 30 hours per week. Full-time hours (40 hours) are fine. This could work as a job share depending on availability of other candidates.

Purpose Of The Role

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic individual to run the Ombar online shop, manage Amazon orders, and organise the dispatch of chocolate samples for marketing events. This is a role with a lot of responsibility, so we are looking for someone who can offer a high level of commitment to the job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Swiftly, but carefully packing and dispatching all online shop and Amazon orders for the day
  • Liaising with the sales and marketing departments to ensure all samples are dispatched on time
  • Assisting customers via email or phone with queries
  • Running the back-end admin for the online shop and Amazon, such as product information, prices, and discounts
  • Keeping stock of packaging supplies to keep everything flowing
  • Liaising with Royal Mail and courier services to manage the dispatch logistics for the online shop and Amazon
  • Keeping the online shop very organised, neat, and tidy on a daily basis
  • Sometimes working with the wider chocolate production team (sometimes inside the factory) for ad-hoc work

Who Are We Looking For?

  • We are looking for someone with a lot of energy that can clear a deluge of orders without becoming overwhelmed. But at the same time, you must be able to pay close attention to detail and accuracy. The customer should feel that their order has been packed with love and care.
  • This is a customer-facing role, so it’s vital that you have great communication skills and are genuinely happy to help customers with queries.
  • You will also need to be comfortable working with computer admin systems and be sharp enough to learn quickly and spot errors.

Experience and Capabilities

There is no specific experience required for this role and all training will be provided internally. Experience working in retail, customer-facing roles, or dispatch environments may be useful.
